Great Guitar February 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This guitar is great, it looks great, and plays great, the strum bar tends to squeak which gets annoying, but a little oil should take care of that. It is great to have a guitar that has rechargeable batteries built in, but also can be played with a cord, hard to beat that combination. Many of me female friend like to use the small buttons when they play, so definitely an added bonus.
V guitar February 1, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This guitar is NOT MADE BY SONY! It is made by dreamGEAR? It does not activate star power unless you press the select button (on the one I bought anyhow). It really looks cool with the carbon fiber finish and illuminated strum bar but the strum bar squeaked and worked slow when new! WD-40 fixed that but it still doesn't compare to the activision guitar for performance. The small buttons are too close together for teenage fingers to press, which basically makes them useless for anyone but a small child! Of all the guitars controllers I've tried I would not recommend this one for hard or expert levels.
Awesome guitar controller January 25, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Just bought two of these and tried them out last night. I chose this controller because it looks great, & was advertised as "wired or wireless" - so I figured if it didn't work well as wireless, I would just plug it in. It has a rechargeable battery enclosed within - no need to buy batteries. I plugged them in to start (a necessity to charge the batteries) and after about 10-15 minutes they were fully charged. So I shut off the console & plugged in the wireless receivers and tried it. The controllers connected instantly and worked flawlessly. The glowing strum bar looks really cool, and the lower fret buttons (advertised as an aid for smaller kids) are great because they are close together and are cool to switch to for solos. Tilting the guitar for "star power" worked perfectly every time. The strum bar is still louder than I'd like, but no worse than the wired controller that comes with the game. Another cool feature - the guitar shuts off automatically after a few minutes to conserve battery life. With the press of a button it powers right back up and connects instantly. I am extremely happy with this controller - as long as it holds up well - and as of right now I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. Works with all guitar hero games. Great product!!!
