4 out of 5 stars Like the movie, but even better!   May 7, 2008
I got this game because I played it on my old XBOX, and I liked it quite a bit. It plays every bit as good as the console version, and fans of the movie will enjoy it very much, as it is very loyal to the film. The opening credits will look very familiar to anyone who has seen the movie. The game not only follows the events of the movie, but it greatly expands on the overall storyline and shows how each member of the Warriors got to be in the gang. Fans of good old-fashioned brawlers will love this game.

4 out of 5 stars Cult favorite about a cult favorite   April 19, 2008
This was a surprising find for me. I never even heard of the game before stumbling on the listing. There is a lot to like about the game play and design. Sometimes the colors are just too dark comfortably view in the daylight but it still works pretty well as a psp game.

5 out of 5 stars Come Out And Play!!!   January 23, 2008
I am new to the PSP craze (just got it for Xmas 07), so I haven't played many games. But this was the only one I have that derailed my Grand Thief Auto addiction. Once I started playing it, I couldn't put it down. There are so many controls that at first I was worried, but after about 20 minutes and the great tutorial, I was a pro.

Took me about 15-20 to pass it, but there are probably some things I could go back and do. Much like GTA, there are several missions besides the plotline that you can play. After I was done, I popped GTA back in and I have to tell you, The Warriors is so much smoother, faster and gameplay is a bit more interesting.

I will say, it does get slightly repetitive near the end (which is also kind of anti-climactic), but if Warriors 2 ever comes out, I'll be first in line.

5 out of 5 stars Great Smash 'em Up Game!   December 11, 2007

If you're looking for something of a mix between GTA, and Manhunt, you're looking at the right game! Wonderful game play with many hours of play, although it can be a little repetitive. You can have a second player combine forces in co-op and also battle you in multiplayer. You can smash up the entire environment, as well as use basically anything as a weapon. Steal radios from cars, rob stores, and wreck police officers; whatever it takes to prove The Warriors are not to messed with.

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best Renditions of a Hollywood to Handeld Conversion   November 30, 2007

The video game is impressive in its simplicity. You don't need maps and guides to get through the levels, but it will keep you entertained with plenty of action and details.

The story plot carries well and the controls compliment the graphics. I would definitely not recommend this for kids. The language is way too crude and while true it's only a video game, it is still glorifying street crime, graffiti, and violence. I'm not jumping on a moral high horse, but I would not give this game to a child.

I saw this movie in 1979 (I was not yet 16 but still got in to see it). It was the height of "toughness" in that era, especially if like me, you lived in an urban neighborhood where everyone thought they were bad a**es. The game so far takes you through the same perils that faced the characters of the movie. It's impressive that Rock Star games was able to re-capture the momentum of The Warriors and pack it all into a hand held.

Turn the volume down or use headphones where you're on a plane or other public place (due to the foul language). I play the PSP on my long commutes to work or flying on business trips and you have to be aware of your surroundings when the audio is on.
