Absolutely AWESOME! April 18, 2008 I have never owned a product such as this one. It is truly a one of a kind for me!! And I guess I'm not as fast as some of the other users since it is taking me much longer to go through the various scenes. But I am enjoying every step of the process. I will admit that (for me) some of the tasks are quite challenging, but I have been making progress slowly but surely. I haven't tried the other games mentioned in some of the other reviews, but if they are as good as this one I may be compelled to give them a try. However, I don't like blood and gore so this one may be just what I need for right now! And it is the perfect "outlet" for me!
Bully the Bullies March 23, 2008 Bully is a pretty fun video game. The playing format is similar to Grand Theft Auto III and those after it. Your character is pretty much free-roaming in between missions, there are a certain number of missions until you complete the storyline, there are side missions and collectibles in order to achieve 100% completion, and you have to complete certain missions in order to open new areas of the game.
The main premise is that you play a tough kid named Jimmy Hopkins who has been dumped at Bullworth Academy by his mom and brand new (rich) step-dad while they go on their honeymoon...for a year. While at Bullworth, you quickly discover that there are very divisive cliques throughout the school. You have the jocks, the preps, the nerds, the greasers, and the townies. You just want to get on the good side of all of them and get them all to stop fighting so your school experience goes smoother. All of this while trying to pass your classes and not get kicked out of the school.
This objective is somewhat hard to complete, however, because of sociopathic nut job named Gary. Gary's sole mission is to improve his standing in society and to piss on everybody else. It's his opinion that nobody is smarter than him and nobody is better than him. Everybody is there simply for his amusement, like chess pieces on a playing board.
So your ultimate goal is truly to defeat Gary. Once you defeat Gary and make nice with the leaders of the major cliques, your time at Bullworth is much simpler.
I haven't hit 100% completion yet, but I did complete the storyline at about 76% completion. Now I'm finishing all the bike and go cart races, and I'm trying to find the last of the G&G cards, rubber bands, and lawn gnomes. This can get a little tedious once you've passed all the classes and completed the storyline, so I would suggest getting a walkthrough that lists the locations of collectibles so you can make sure you collect them all in between missions. If you want 100% completion, that's the best way to get it.
Totally Fun, brings back memories March 21, 2008 The storyline kinda reminds me of high school in the early 90's. As a teen worried about popularity and standing up for yourself w/o worrying about fatal violence. Your the new kid trying to fit in and beating the clicks.
The game play is really easy and I like the fact that time is a factor to determine gamplay. Also, THe seasons change and there are holidays in the game that affect the game Holloween and Xmas. It gives the game some variety and different experince. Cool weapons, like the sling shot, eggs and bottle rockets; things I use to use. There are also some extras like boxing matches, carnival games and shopping for outfits. Many mini challenges in the game.
Humerious experince of what highschool life once was.
THE BEST GAME EVER!!! January 18, 2008 o my god i dont even know where to start it was soo freakin sweet!well first off its from 'rockstar' games who as you may alredy know brought us the amazing games GTA or grand theft auto.this game is basicly a kid version of grand theft auto.highly recomanded from a 12 year old gammer!
Dog Eat Dog. (OR, Canis Canem Edit if you want to be Fancy.) January 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I only heard about this game a few months ago, but when I saw that it was made by Rockstar. It was a definite must buy, as I have enjoyed their previous releases, all the Grand Theft Auto, The Warriors etc. But even though as a fifty year old gamer, I found the main missions a bit on the TOO easy side. The protaganist you play is Jimmy Hopkins a fifteen year old from a disharmonious family background, who's intention is to rise to the top of the pile by any means he can. Not surprisingly as the story takes place in a private school the violence is toned down compared to the, "GTA" franchise. (Catapults and stink bombs instead of shotguns and Uzi's.) The hardest part's in the game in my opinion are the mini missions you need to complete in order to acheive 100%. Some of the mini missions include bicycle and go-kart races in which you must come first. Chemistry class is a quick reaction time test where you have to correctly press the corresponding button within a short period of time. A bit like the old "simon says" game. I found chemistry very frustrating. And completeing all the photos in your yearbook helps towards 100% completion too. Overall opinion, a enjoyable experience with some replay value. But for all you youngun's out there you may find it too easy. (The game is called Canis Canem Edit in the UK. In case anyone's wondering where I got the title.)
