4 out of 5 stars Customization!   June 6, 2007

If, like me, you find customization of your cars one
of the best parts of racing games ...
This is the game for you.
A ton, a TON, of options in the body shop.
And great racing fun as well.

Superb graphics. Great courses. Great cars.
Recommended.

5 out of 5 stars The best racing game in the market   March 11, 2007

I have all the NFS games but they are not as good as MC3.First of all MC3 has hundreds of cars to chose from, from a 64 impala to a Dodge super8hemi concept and everything in between. It has muscle, tuner, concept, classic, and exotics. Also this game lets you go to Tokyo,San Diego,Atlanta, and Detroit. There are a lot of races were you can unlock cars or customize parts.Overall this is a 10 star game.

5 out of 5 stars As a 17 year old girly girl...   February 1, 2007

I never in my life thought I'd ever upgrade from the original Nintendo system my dad always had, or play anything other than Original Mario Bros. But my boyfriend brought over his PS2 and this game back in September and now, 5 months later, I am still in love with Midnight Racer.

The only worthwhile way to play is in the Career mode, and once you get through the first race in San Diego, everything is very straight foward. I love how easy it is to customize your car. I know little to nothing about the engine works of a car, so the "auto upgrade" that gets you the best engine for your money all in one go is great for those less interested in the technical/mechanical aspects. The way that different customizations are locked gives me a reason to keep playing. Aside from that (and this is the most important part), I love all the cars! I love how I can make my entire collection of cars customized to a theme. I've completed 85% of my career, and have access to every kind of car. From my first muscle car to my latest exotic beauty... they all are pictures of perfection- pink, purple, and fuschia perfection. It drives my boyfriend nuts but then again, if I had met his taste in customized cars before I met him, I never would've picked us for a match.

I also appreciate that every car (and there are a lot!) drives a little differently. You can really perfect your own technique and style of racing, to truely make the game your own. My little sister, my boyfriend and I all drive differently so even watching someone else play this game is fun.

My only complaint is that the load time between cruising for a race and starting a race (or going from cruise mode to the garage, or the garage to cruise mode) takes FOREVER. And when I say forever I mean somwhere around 45-50 seconds. But I only really notice that when I'm playing solo, with another person to pass the time with it's not so bad.

All in all, this is the best racing game I have ever played. I've tried playing Need For Speed (several of them) as well as Turismo and Burnout... but those have so many things to remember and keep track of that I always find myself coming back to Midnight Club.

5 out of 5 stars THIS GAME ROCKS!!!   January 15, 2007

The first time I played this game in career mode, I got a little confused. It told me to "purchase a vehicle," but I wondered how the heck I had any money to buy one. When I got to the garage and figured it out, I bought the Mitsubishi Eclipse which did me well until Vannesa challenged me a second time. The only dissapointing thing is that so many many races have to be done tons of times to finish your career. I liked everything else about it though.

i got this game used for 15 bucks. i played it and got addicted. after a week i was noticing sameness in the races. the cars on the road are always in the way, almost to a point where it is unrealistic.
Pros:
great customization
gradually gets harder
worth the price
OK grapics

Cons:
Mechanics are idiots. they say stuff like, "YOU DRIFT LIKE A GIRL!!!"
TOO MUCH TRAFFIC!!
easy to crash. way to much debris

this game is better than nfs. customization is so much easier and race rewards are so much better.
overall, get this game if you like racing or customizing cars.

P.S. This game gets VERY FRUSTERATING!so just do restart race.
