3 out of 5 stars For Use On PS2   May 25, 2007
I bought this product in hopes that I would be able to use it on my PS2 for my PS1 games. I did a lot of research to figure out if it would be possible and I arrived at two products. There is a Gameshark device that plugs into the I/O port in the back of the older model PS2's that I heard works, and this Gameshark CD. It works but has a lot of bugs. There are a lot of codes on the CD itself that will lock up the game if you try to run them all at once. I takes a bit of trial and error to figure out which codes work and which don't (don't get me wrong, most of the codes work but there are a few that will lock up the Playstation).

Inputting codes is a bit of a hassle as well. I don't know if it is because I am using a PS1 Gameshark on a PS2, but once you save codes and run the game they won't show up in the code list next time you load the Gameshark. So, basically you have to enter any user inputted codes every time you use the Gameshark.

Overall it can be tedious and time consuming. It just depends on how badly you want or need to use cheats.

5 out of 5 stars Great   May 7, 2007
I love this. They said that it wont work on the 500001 playstation 2 game systems but they do. also I like this one due to it having Final Fantasy VII cheats on it. The newer ones dont and I cant find codes for this game. Over all I like this better then the new/older ones. Take a chance and pick one up. its a lot better and as I have stated before it will work on the 500001 systems and I think that it also works on the slims too but I aint for shore if it will for all of them. I let a friend borrow it and he had no problumes on his slim.

4 out of 5 stars Useful, but...   April 15, 2007
With most RPGs, this is useless as it doesn't affect any party member but the main character (Final Fantasy VII, anyone?), and it doesn't come with cheats for games made after 1999. A four of five, overall. =3

2 out of 5 stars Waste of money   February 6, 2007

This Gameshark is just like the Action replay I already have for my PSOne, but the description did not say that. If I'd have known, I wouldnt have wasted my money on it.

3 out of 5 stars Doesnt Really Work...   August 6, 2006

This item I boiught for my PS1 games (Digimon and Monster Rancher 1) because cheats I think are so much fun to use. It wont work on the new mini PS2's which I think stinks becasue it is said it will work on all Playstation models so i advise you to ignore buying this if u have a new miniPS2. Also it works very slow and takes a loarge amount of time to even start the game and put in the cheats.
