5 out of 5 stars This Game is Awesome!!!!!!!!   December 10, 2006

I got this game as a birthday gift and was thrilled with this game that you can play different heroes other than batman and superman.I'm on the fourth level of the game I guess.I've already tried batman and superman on the first two levels and to realize that superman is a bit weak and he flies so slow in this game,no offense but he does fly slow. Now I am playing martian the manhunter and zantanna on the third and fourth level now and so far so good, this game is way more better than any other game and to think that zantanna is hot in this game and all the superheroes in this game are fine, but I haven't gotten a chance to play the other heroes, but right now on the fourth level,I'm sticking with zantanna for now and if you're tired of batman and superman,go get this game because its got great gameplay and you can play other heroes in this game and other than, this game is very highly recommended.

When I first heard that we wouldn't be able to choose our own characters in the first few levels I was a little ticked, but as I progressed towards the end of the game, I understood why as you do need to know how to play all of your characters. This game will have you play two characters at the same time. If you don't have someone to play with, the computer will be your partner. With one easy click of the up direction you can switch your character throughout the levels. As for graphics, I think it looks good overall. I'm not hard to please. As long as it doesn't look like Atari 2600 animation, I'm satisfied...although they could have made Wonder Woman a bit more sexyier in the face.

I didn't notice anyone else telling you all the characters you can play so here it is. The original start up is Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern (john stewart), Martian Manhunter and Zatanna. Through the course of the game you can collect shields which are used as points to buy alternative costumes for your characters OR you can unlock other Justice League characters. Those characters are Hawkgirl, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Huntress and two other Green Lanterns Kyle Rayner and Hal Jordan. Its a good selection of characters but the problem is that there isn't enough time to build up these characters strengths giving them the "boost" combos. There are only certain levels where you can choose to play these characters and you don't want to face big opponents with characters that have weaker powers. Some of the enemies you'll be facing... The Key, Zazalla the Queen Bee, Braniac, Gorilla Grodd, Killer Frost, Doomsday, etc. I won't spoil the ending by giving you the main villain if you don't already know it. Overall, I found the game to be incredibly fun. The storyline is mediocre, but its a blast to live out your fantasies playing these characters and use their powers. The game is playable again. I concentrated my efforts on building up the powers of Wonder Woman and The Flash but it'll be cool to check out the maximum strengths of the other characters. I was never really big into the comic book series but I have always been a DC fan of the Super Powers, Super Friends and Justice League cartoons so I think any DC fan can appreciate this game. Here's hoping we get a sequel soon!

4 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good   November 24, 2006

With Marvel making huge splashes in movies and video games, DC has began to follow through, with some very good results. Justice League Heroes allows to play as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Zatanna (yes, Zatanna, fishnets, top hat, and magic spells and all) as you take on Brainiac and other baddies. Unlike other comic licensed games, Justice League Heroes isn't necessarily a generic beat 'em up. Instead, the game sort of follows the X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance formula by injecting a sense of strategy into the gameplay along with some RPG elements. The environments are wonderfully done, and there's a great roster of villains to take on (including Doomsday), and while the voice acting doesn't include any of the talent from the hit animated show, the actors here (including Ron "Hellboy" Perlman as Batman and one time Spawn Michael Jai White) do a great job. Each heroes' powers are nicely implemented, and the game looks good to boot, not to mention that the game is surprisingly easy to pick up and play. The only real drawbacks to Justice League Heroes is that it's easy and a bit on the short side, and why of all Justice League members is Zatanna included over heavy hitters like Green Arrow, Captain Marvel, Firestorm, Hawkgirl or Hawkman? Despite all that, Justice League Heroes is a more than solid game that does it's license justice (no pun intended), and is more than worth picking up for any comic fan looking to get away from Marvel Ultimate Alliance for a while.

5 out of 5 stars DC Comics Fans REJOICE!   November 22, 2006

After so many Marvel games out there finally a decent looking game featuring DC's most popular heroes. For those of us who grew up reading DC comics this game is a dream come true.
The pros:
Wonderful realistic graphics that can rival the PS3.
Outstanding cinematics where you see all the characters up close, thus provide the storyline of why you're saving the world with your heroes team.Great voice acting.
Great combat system and use of all the superpowers of each hero. Also the change of costumes from the classic ones to recent new looks for certain main characters.
Ability to play with a friend and switch characters.Play in various modes; easy, medium, hard, elite and superhero.Though aimed mostly at a male audience, female players can play as Huntress, Hawkgirl, Zatanna and of course Wonder Woman.
Once finished you can open the extended play feture and have all your experience and new costumes and superpowers upgrades transfered to a new game mode of your choice.
Unlock other heroes as game goes on.

The cons:
Gets a little repetive after a while.
No mini-games.
Details on the costumes of some characters have been omited.
Only certain heroes can and must be used in certain levels.

Overall is quite entertaining and finally get to see DC most beloved superheroes in realistic 3D form. The controls aren't that tricky to use unlike previous games that featured Batman. I think a sequel should follow.

Special notes:
If you stop playing for a minute and a half without pausing, your heroes will say 3 different funny phrases about themselves or you as the player. All heroes have them.
Although there is a mention in the instructions booklet (for voice talent) about Supergirl and Black Canary, these two heroines do not seem to appear in the game at all.

5 out of 5 stars all the greatest superheroes in one game...   November 17, 2006

the graphics are great, the powers are very well thought out and cool (the flash zipping around the screen at super speed, the different green lantern powers, and of course the big guns like superman's heat vision, etc.). the best thing about this game is you get to use the real top shelf superheroes (batman, superman, wonder woman, the flash, green lantern, etc.), with their own different costumes and powers. this game is different than x-men legends in that you don't have to run around busting all the environment (boxes, etc.) for powerups and xp. which makes this game a lot shorter but it's refreshing to not have to spend 10-20x more time in a level busting boxes after you beat the bad guys. the only things i wish were in this game other than a bit more length is i wish there was some between-level place to run around like the x-mansion in legends (like maybe the watchtower or the bat cave or the fortress of solitude?). and i wish there were famous flashback missions like in legends. but then again jlh gives you the best heroes, whereas in legends i liked the game but don't really dig the x-men.
one big plus in justice league heroes is the cutscenes and voice work are top top notch. ron perlman has the greatest batman voice ever. i never thought i'd get chills hearing someone say 'i'm batman'.
