3 out of 5 stars Underwhelming   October 24, 2006

For all the pre-release talk about how this game was going to try and make each hero both distinctive and evocative of their comic-book inspiration, this game is basically a reskinning of a standard-issue arcade punch-and-shoot-em-up. Superman can fly, technically, but really what he does is sort of hover and geriatrically creep forward through the air. Batman and Superman take the exact same amount of damage from getting punched in the face by the same robot. And so on. For someone who hasn't played this sort of game before and really likes DC Comics, it's a decent enough effort. (My five-year old thinks it is fun.) For anyone who had even modestly higher expectations, it's a disappointment.

5 out of 5 stars All-Action Heroes   October 20, 2006

JUSTICE LEAGUE HEROES is an arcade-style actioner. There's no deep thinking here, just twitch movement and slam-bang action with some of DC's greatest heroes. People looking for something deep or something more along the lines of a true RPG need to look elsewhere. This one is for the kids -- and for dad (and moms) who want to be superheroes with their kids.

We bought the game yesterday when it came out. So far, my 9-year-old has spent hours on it. My 17-year old has been there as well (giving up time on MySpace to hang with his little brother during fall break), and dad and mom have suited up with the caped crowd as well. As a general across-the-board game the whole family can play and have fun at, JUSTICE LEAGUE HEROES succeeds.

The game is for 1-2 player(s). It has a preset course that doesn't allow you to choose heroes, but you get to cycle through them in pairs. There's even a feature that allows a single player to shift characters in the pair. Players playing together can do the same, swapping characters over and over as they go along.

The primary choices for the missions are Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Flash, Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter. It looks like there are possibilities to be other superheroes as well, but we haven't gotten there yet.

For the younger crowd or players wanting a no-brainer with awesome graphics and cool cut-scenes, JUSTICE LEAGUE HEROES really hits the spot. This is the perfect game to get the kids for Christmas, then sit right down with them over Christmas break and be a kid again yourself.

5 out of 5 stars The Justice League is finally here!   October 19, 2006
This game is awesome! I love it. They all hold such awesome powers; it's great to actually play some of my favorite DC heroes esp. the Flash. If you're a fan of superheroes or just fighting games, this game is for you!
