Good Game, But.... January 10, 2007 I think this game is really good; however, it's a bit difficult for a beginner in video games like me. I have a really hard time on the "timed" sections of the game because I'm not fast enough (as yet) to beat the clock. Other than my inabilities though, it's a really interesting game and I do enjoy it.

incredible graphics. PERIOD. the gameplay is exciting. the sound naturally blends into the surroundings. the puzzle-solving is what i like about this game the most. the puzzles neither too hard nor too easy. i finished this game before i got prince of persia and other hardcore puzzle games. those puzzles totally prepared me for games like those and actually got my brain working. the only downside of this game is that it's too short. if it is just a bit longer, i would've given it 5 out of 5 for everything.
Tomb Raider improvement October 22, 2006 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Thank God the memories of the old Tomb Raider games on the Playstation One are just that- memories! I HATED those games. Now, Lara Croft has arrived to the Playstation 2 and the graphics, action, and characters have ALL been improved. This is *so* much better than those old Tomb Raider games that it's not even funny. You have many weapons such as grenade launchers, assault rifles, and shotguns. Each weapon is a lot of fun, too. I love chasing and killing a guy named Takamoto. There's one REALLY hard part of the game where you have to kill a whole bunch of guards along the street while using the grappling hook. I always have trouble with this part.
I think this game is good enough to say- Lara Croft is one fine, dangerous babe.
The steady decline is over! October 5, 2006 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I feel very pleased.
Tomb Raider once again is one of the greatest games ever. Lara Croft comes back with a whole new game. Say bye bye to the old characters that weren't Lara Croft and hello to new Zip, Allister, and Amanda! Sleek and beautiful graphics bring Lara to life, and all the enviroment around her. Super-easy to control. No more pressing action to grab onto another ledge.
Lara Croft now is more believe-able. Now there are guys leading her... Zip and Allister. Zip is the mechanic and Allister is the guide. The british archaelogist now is more sexy and improved! Each level takes place in a different and unique place.. Ranging from deserts to forests to Arctic places.
Lara Croft now is much more easier to control. Now the system does not take at least 3 seconds to recognize the action you just pressed. No more annoying action button to press to jump and grab onto another ledge! A completely different control system.. X now is jump, triangle now is action, and square now is the grapple hook.
Lara now has a new gadget, the grapple hook. It is a magnetic hook that Lara throws to either: Bring metal things down, or jump across a gap. It is a pretty cool gadget, I could say.
There are only 8 levels, but each one is packed with fun. Bolivia Peru Japan Ghana Kaziskhatan England Nepal Bolivia Redux Personally, the Kaziskhatan level was the harder of all. Especially that stupid demon who Amanda summoned.
New things:
Unlockable outfits
The grapple hook
Super-easy controls
Unlockable people such as Amanda.
YES this is the best Tomb Raider game ever! Forget about how short the game is, you can replay as Time Trials to unlock stuff... So go to the nearest store with a video game section and get this game! The price is lower now so.. Worth it!
Hmmm....... September 23, 2006 This game is a step in the right direction. I liked it, even though it wasn't very challenging. The puzzles were easy to figure out, the game is EXTREMELY short, but it did remind me of the "old school" raider games.
I hate the fact that you have to go through Time Trials to open more of the game. Rushing through these stages is of no interest to me. This is a "slow paced" style of game. Why hurry it?
The mansion is right out of the movie. Can you go outside? Either they took that out, or I just plain missed it. That was always a fun part of the game.
I'm glad I bought it for 19.99 because it's not worth more. It's easily a five day rental. The next one needs to be a little longer to get the money's worth out of it.
