4 out of 5 stars A Trip into the Past   August 30, 2007

The SEGA Genesis was a hit cosole back in the 90's, and the releasing of this Genesis collection sheds some light on the past of SEGA's past gaming. For some, it is a trip down memory lane while for others, it is an exciting taste of gaming from the 90's. This collection was fun yet dissapointing. The including of several classic hits was the main enjoyment. The bad was the leaving out of several other classics. Streets of Rage, Toe Jam and Earl, Gunstar Heroes, etc. were all left out from what could've been a great compilation of SEGA Genesis games. Luckily, I got this game at K Mart for $15. Although this product may have dissapointed fans, it is forgiven for including SEGA's best. I still would recommend this game and enjoy playing the great games which repay for the absence of many other classic titles.

5 out of 5 stars Great Compilation!   August 27, 2007
This is great to have in your collection, especially if you are a genesis fan and you upgraded your firmware and can't use homebrew emulators :( The Sonic, Ecco, Golden Axe, and Phantasy Star series alone make this worth the buy. There are also great games I am discovering for the first time, such as comix zone and gain ground. Hours of fun!

Really great value, I was expecting a couple of games maybe 5 or so but you get 28!!!! Great bundle of classics all in one game. I was however disappointed as I am a fan of the genesis that certain titles like the disney games (Aladdin, Lion King were not included) ,Sonic 3, Mortal Kombat series, earth worm gym, any of the ea sports games , but overall Im happy with what they have included, also a bunch of games ive never seen are included with bonus features with the creators and museum description of each game.

My favorite titles on this game are
Sonic 1, 2
Ecco 1 , Ecco 2 tides of time
virtua fighter
shinobi I and II
ristar
comix zone
the golden axe series
and last but not least Vector man !!!!!

there are many other titles but these are the ones I really enjoyed. Buy this collection!!

This is a great walk down memory lane. I played almost every one of these games on the Genesis. I can't believe it's been so many years. These games are still fun. I bought it for the PSP because I think I'll like taking them wherever I go. I wish the PSP had more and better games, because the hardware is great. Thanks Sega! Will there be a Sega Collection 2, with more classics? Thanks Amazon for getting this product here 4 days before you said you would!

4 out of 5 stars A Trip Down Memory Lane   May 17, 2007
For todays's generation these games will seem old and grainy but, hopefully the true video game players out there that are not totally all about the most polygons and largest hard drive space availible will try this collection of some of the best games of the past generation. Hope fully if Sega puts out another collection the Streets of Rage series will grace it. Overall most of these games are OK but some aren't. In my opinion the best games for my taste were Shinobi 3, Shadow Dancer, Altered Beast, Golden Axe 1&2, Sonic 1&2 and Ristar. The rest seem like filler but, I am again only using MY opinion. At best you are getting 20 plus games for less than 20 bucks some enjoy it. I hope that my review helped since it was my first. Happy Gaming!
