Just Buy Resident Evil 4 May 3, 2008 6 out of 11 found this review helpful
I purchased this set new. I must be honest, it is my first time playing the resident evil games. Well, I started out with Code Veronica X which I found it extremely challenging to become accustomed to the 3-D control setup and imagine those of you who, like me, are unfamiliar with the R.E. games will feel the same way. So, Code Veronica X was descent, hard, but fairly entertaining. Resident Evil 4 was absolutely amazing. The new first-person gaming experience for R.E. came out brilliant! The story is tolerable (nothing amazing), but the weapons, graphics and game play are supberb! This is easily one of my personal favorite games. To better help you understand the perspective of the game, it is much like the gaming experience of Metal Gear Solid. And, finally, R.E. Outbreak was much like Code Veronica X with the 3-D gaming experience I once again struggled to become accustomed to at first, and even still grew tired of trying to manipulate after several minutes (hours) of play. So, overall, I would personally just recommend for anyone who is considering this package to just simply put your money into Resident Evil 4 by itself, and save yourself a few bucks.

I like Resident Evil 4, which to me is outstanding because I like the way the enemies are given intelligence. Have not had a chance to play the other two in this series.
why didn't they do it this way? March 12, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
the resident evil series is my favorite title of all time, so as a person that owns all the game, except for the gamecube ones. whats the point in getting this? great for newcomers i guess, but these games have been out for a long time. why didn't they put "RE zero" and "the remake version on the original" on the PS2? that would make much more sense sense, especially for people like me who haven't played those. I assume sales would be much higher too and RE lovers would be much happier.
Thank Capcom for RE4 February 12, 2008 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
I played Resident Evil CODE: Veronica for the Dreamcast, when it was new, and thought, "There's a good game ruined by poor controls." When I replayed CODE: Veronica X on the PS2, I thought the same thing.
Now, admittedly, I haven't played Outbreak, though I will, but Resident Evil 4 takes the awful control scheme from the previous games and tweaks it just enough to make the game fun. Add in a more well-developed plot, and RE4 alone makes this bundle worth buying.
As for another reviewer who dismissed the fun of playing RE4 on a PS2 after having played it on the Wii? For shame. You can't compare the gameplay of a last-gen console with the Wii. It's like comparing apples and arsenic.
