Playstation 3 Review March 24, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Excellent value for the money.
If you have a (analog) television with only a coax jack, do purchase a RF modulator from Radio Shack Model: 15-2526 or equivalent.
System Broke in Less Than A Week March 23, 2008 3 out of 27 found this review helpful
This was a gift to a friend. It was alright for the first few days then it stopped working. He contacted SONY directly and they took it back and told him they were sending him a complete new one. Don't know exactly what the problem was with the first one but they said they were just going to send a whole new system. I guess whatever the defect was it was not worth fixing it. For now he says it's working fine so I guess we shall see in the next week or so if it was really worth it.
Simply the most complete machine out there March 23, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I won't list everything it has because that is listed everywhere, but just concentrating on my experience with it. I've had it for about 6 months now and it's been nothing but one of the best buys. First of all the BR player is the best in the market, not just because it is affordable, but it is a remarkable piece of hardware, video and audio is amazing, sadly no DTS-HDMA just yet but hopefully in the future. Plus you are future proof because Sony always has the updates for you. Updating also is a breeze(at least for me), it does it wirelessly no hassle at all. The Network also is good,it's free and a easy to connect. The only problem is that sometimes it lags but that's because of the servers out there, but that almost never happens. I have heard of problems with backwards compatibility, but I've had no problems, my PS2 games work perfectly and you can even put them in widescreen if the game has that option. Gaming is great, easy controls, amazing photo-realistic graphics.
So much bang for your buck! March 20, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought the 80gb ps3 as a christmas gift for our family. Am I glad I did! We upgraded from an old xbox. We also bought a 40" sony bravia v3000 hdtv and onkyo 7.1 surround system.(highly recommend those as well) We are broke, but have a ball playing our ps3! I didn't realize this was much more than just a game console! It also allows internet access(with wifi),allows me to play my ipod through the stereo, look at my digital pics, watch reg.and bluray movies, and play ps3 games online with anyone! I am sure there is more I can do with it, but I am still learning. We own 7 ps3 games and have bought the bowling game from the ps3 online store(better than the Wii bowling game in my opinion.) And have not been disappointed with any of them. If you are looking for great family fun buy this system! And buy Rockband to go with it! If you are considering buying the 40g ps3, spend the extra and get the 80g. The 80g offers more capabilites and you will miss them with the 40. I hope this review was helpful.

Great fun and plays High def for a few dollars more than just a high def player alone.
