Stronger than it looks October 27, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The new PSP slim is much stronger than it looks and feels great in your hands. I have no complaints about it at all. Screen is crisp and body is much lighter than previous model.
Worth the money ! October 25, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Enough good things have been said about this PSP2001 (aka PSP slim and lite) Just to emphasize Pros: - Top notch screen - Playing Madden on this and my xbox felt the same - Extremely easy controls (well built buttons) - Light weight (won't feel the weight when playing for long hours) - Battery hardly used when on sleep mode, I have put this on sleep for days and then continued my game from where I left! - Well designed - Video quality is amazing - Video podcast download over the wireless is a GREAT add-on. I watch CNN highlights on this. - Updating firmware was easier than eating a muffin !
Cons: - None that I know of ! - A slight disappointment, if I may, I bought the component cable to connect to my 51" TV. The video quality of the podcasts was unbelievably clear. Now, I knew that the game won't use the entire TV screen (for those who don't know, the game will use about 60-70% of your TV screen). But the quality of the game video was bad, in fact Madden looked terrible on the TV! That is something I did not expect from PSP.
All-in-all, money well spent on the console. I recommend this to anyone, any age, who would like have mobility but still be able to play their Madden etc. as well as get bit more out of the console with video podcast downloads over the air or a music player or a 'OK' web browser or location free client or whatever
disappointed October 24, 2007 7 out of 61 found this review helpful
I am a total greenhorn with tech stuff like this, but I needed to buy this for my 9-year-old son and so I just went by the raving product description. I also even asked for clarification from Customer Support if this was a plug-and-play thing that can be used in my country (the Philippines) and they said yes.
But I am very disappointed to find that it is not. We have to buy a "Memory Stick Duo" and buy/download games too, which will take some more time and resources for me to do for my son.
I would really just have wanted something that's Plug and Play, with all necessary components in; and apparently, it's not.
I would appreciate advise on what to do next. Like, in buying a Memory Stick Duo, what to watch out for? In buying/downloading games, what to observe as key tips? And what else to do to maintain it well?
Great product, but the battery doesn't last long! October 23, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The product is great! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone I know. The only problem I see with it is that the battery doesn't last long - something between 3 to 6 hours, depending on the game and whether or not you are using the device wireless resources.
Well, but despite that, you can (among other things): - play great games; - watch movies available in UMD; - access the internet using a wireless network*; - if you have also a memory stick of reasonable size, copy your MP3 songs to your PSP and make it your iPod.
* it's not so easy to browse the internet with your PSP, but it's good to have this feature in a game in case of an emergency! =)
PSP Slim...slim on value as well? October 17, 2007 2 out of 11 found this review helpful
I always wanted a PSP system, and with the revision I thought it was finally time to buckle down.
The system surpased my expectations in more ways than one, however, I found out that the silver and white ones come with a UMD movie, memory card, AND a game for 20 dollars more? Is black that exclusive that it's not worth all of that money?
The system is great, but please, if you're interested in getting the PSP Slim get one for a better value.
