Very Fun November 5, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is possibly the best PS2 game i've ever played in my life. The whole shadow hearts series is the best title ive ever played in my lifetime of living. Great game, Great storyline, Great everything. I would definately recommend this to anyone thats intrested in turn based attack games.
Shadow Hearts: Covenant August 1, 2007 A wonderful journey and once again a unique fighting system just goes along so well with a continuance in the Shadow Heart saga a series that is truly underrated by far in tern makes this a must have RPG.
one of the best rpg's ever May 3, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this game after I played SH 3. I didn't even know there were two previous games. I loved SH 3 so much that I went online and ordered the first two when I found out about them. I can't say that the the 1st game was all that great, but SH 2 was awsome.
Many are comparing this series to the FF series. I'm a big FF fan, but it does not compare to SH, simply because of the judgement ring.
The judgement ring takes some hand/eye cordination and if you miss, your attack/magic won't go through. However, getting perfects on the judgement ring, your attacks/magic are more powerful, therefore, dealing much more damage.
The characters in this game are amazing. The only problem I had was deciding who to use throughout the game. Another problem I had was that Yuri had too many fusions to choose from and it took a while to level them up.
The storyline moves along nicely and if it gets to be to much, you can always take a breather and do any side quests available. Doing the sidequests as soon as you can is always a good thing, because usually you'll be rewared with rare and valuable items.
I suggest trying to play through SH 1 if you are thinking of playing SH 2 in order for the "good ending" to make sense and have a better understanding of the main character, Yuri.
In other words, the story, the graphics, the characters, even the cut scenes, everything about this game is amazing.
THE MOTHER OF ALL THINGS FABULOUS April 11, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I originally bought Shaow Hearts: Covenant on a whim. Being a staunch turn based RPG fan, I thought the reviews were good, and decided to give it a whirl. The moment I began to play I was awed. This game is so in depth, with so many layers to complete, that I bought the guide (something I almost never do).
This game offers over 60 hours of entertainment, and characters you will fall in love with, while sucking you in to a superb and twisted story line. I would say it definately ranks with Final Fantasy III, my all time favorite, only better (**gasp**), due to the blow you away graphics, and unlimited choices and levels.
Have fun! Well worth the money. I could play this again and again. And I will.
Yes. As one reviewer said: Surprisingly good!!! October 19, 2006 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've played Final Fantasy, the one with the 3 girlz. It was okay, just started but haven't finished. It looks really complex and the battle system is a bit fast for me.
I've also played Shadowhearts I, it was entertaining yet mediocre. But this one I started about 40+ hours ago and I can't stop playing! Maybe it's because I have the FAQ and was trying to follow all the secrets and goodies in the game. One thing's for sure, without the FAQ, I would be TOTALLY lost on what to do. Some sidequest missions are insane, especially the one in the cave, with all the moving blocks. Oy vey!
Anyway, if you're into RPG [which I'm actually not], I think you might like this. Give it a try. And there are enough characters, a total of 8, to choose from!!! I think I'm gonna get the 3rd installment soon. It may not be the same, but I do like the Judgement Ring, battle system.
Toodles!
