Got confused! July 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Level 1 was lots of fun but at the save point at the end of the way I did not know I was supposed to jump on the roof, and I did not know I was supposed to press A continuously but I tried it. I ended up in a lovely park with a bridge and water. I tried jumping after I kept going in the direction I came at the end of the hallway. Finally I got to level 2, and that was the hardest level ever! If there is anyone stuck on level 2, it isnt in the strategy guide, but I found a big secret. When you shoot the bow and arrow anywhere, there is a red dot about the size of 2 grains of salt put together that you cannot see. When you see that dot, focus the camera and move the dot to the very center of the target. Then release B and the trigger, and if the dot hits the center of the eye, Bullseye! the gate opens! After playing more on level 2, you go up on a balcony and find secret rooms with the camera. I thought I never would find them. Again, there is a little red dot. Center it in the middle of the room and BULLSEYE!
Very challenging but much fun July 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ninja Gaiden 2 is overall a very fun, interesting, and challenging, game. For fans of the first game, this one follows up quite well. In some aspects it is less challenging, like being able to heal when you save, but sometimes it is much harder, as in you fight many more enemies throughout the game. The boss fights are still as hard as ever, but if you havent played the first or could never beat it, there is an "easy" difficulty. All in all, if you were a fan of the first game, or you like fast, challenging gameplay, this is the game for you.
Hardcore to the MAX!!! July 1, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
This game is awesome! If you like Ninjas, Japanese anime, beat'em ups, the supernatural, weapons, or just absolute carnage, then you need to get this game.
However, here's a few things this game is NOT:
1) A button masher 2) For the squeamish 3) A game with a coherent story line 4) Easy difficulty (I know it sounds like an oxymoron) 5) For the casual gamer
This game requires some form of dedication to master and have fun with... Since otherwise, you'll just spend all your time complaining why you died a hundred million times on the first level. Although, I have to admit, Team Ninja have tried their best to make this one somewhat easier compared to the first (ie, auto heal after every battle, more checkpoints, easier combos, and instant fatality moves).
Way to hard June 30, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Well, At first 4 levels, I did enjoy the game. However, after 5th level, the game producer somehow decided to put enemies with projectile weapons. They use RPG, fireball or explosive kunis. And believe me, those enemies can shoot you from far far away. (I played the easy mode. Can't image the normal or higher difficulty ) This kind of stage designs really really drag the overall rating of this game.
The story is boring, no puzzle, stage design is annoying and the frame rate is not stable. I recommend you buy the ninja gaiden - black instead of this one.
