2 out of 5 stars Could have been better   June 17, 2007

This could have been a great game for Kakuro alone. Unfortunately the interface isn't very good. It doesn't allow you to place potential answers in the blocks and that is essential for any Kakuro puzzle to solve. Try Brain Buster Puzzle Pak for the DS or import a Kakuro game [..] for a better game experience.

5 out of 5 stars What makes this one different from all the rest?   June 10, 2007

So here we have another Sudoku game for the DS... so what makes this one different from the others? This one has the added bonus of having Kakuro included with it... it's Sudoku where you have to add up the numbers to make a certain sum, but only use them once in each row... not as simple as it sounds... but fun all the same... and you might need your calculator handy.

The Sudoku has a nice red Dragon background... but there aren't any changeable backgrounds or fonts like Sudoku Mania has, however, you can write the numbers with your stylus which Sudoku Mania or Sudoku Gridmaster doesn't offer. Sudoku Gridmaster doesn't offer different backgrounds or fonts either, nor does either one of the above games offer Kakuro.

So if you're a Sudoku fan, and want to try Kakuro, want functionality over variety of a few fonts and backgrounds, then this is a very good choice whether for first time beginners or hard core players since the game offers easy, medium and hard puzzles and keeps track of your best times.

1 out of 5 stars This Kakuro has multiple solutions which should never happen!   June 6, 2007

Any good Kakuro game has only 1 unique solution. I've tried several in the easy section that have multiple solutions. Why would the game developer not understand the first and most important rule in Sudoku and Kakuro? Had I known this before I bought it - I would have saved my money. I'd give it 0 stars if there was that option!

1 out of 5 stars Unbelievable   May 29, 2007

Sudoku is one of the simplest games ever, and the DS is the perfect electronic platform for it because of its pen input. So why is impossible for these games companies to come up with a Sudoku game that is actually playable? Brain Age is the only one that gets it right (but sadly it only has a limited number of puzzles).

The advertising for "Sudokuro" states it has text recognition, and based on that I pre-ordered hoping it would be close to Brain Age in format, but it is not. It does let you write the number you want, but you have to use clunky arrow cursors to move around the board which is displayed on the upper (non-touch) screen. It seems like a no-brainer to me to put the board on the touch screen so you can just tap the square you want, but nope, not here. (Why they even bothered to put text recognition in Sudokuro is a mystery, because it's much simpler to just tap the number. I guess they wanted to pad their features list to fool people like me into buying this game.)

Sudokuro is a complete waste of time and money, you're better off buying a Sudoku book and using a pen.

1 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing   May 27, 2007

I pre-purchased this game after going through all the Sudoku in Brain Age. This couldn't be farther from the quality and playability of Brain Age if it tried. The game doesn't allow for guesses in the square and you can't see the numbers unless you have VERY good eyesight and it just isn't fun to play. If you liked the Sudoku in Brain Age, you will be very disappointed.
