The game was exactly what they said it would be. Some people love it, others don't get too excited by it. If your a Tetris person, this game is right up your alley.

Super Collapse 3, for the most part, is just like the original online time-eater, but a little bit more, and a little bit better. They've taken the original premise a couple steps further by adding a couple of different types of game-play, but they also leave this gem unaltered for 'quick-play mode'. The DS's touch-screen controls are a much more efficient user interface (expect to increase your level-advancement by 50% by NOT using a mouse) even though the playfield is notably smaller than a 'standard' PC monitor. Ignore whatever trepidations you might have & give it a try; the only thing you have to lose is free-time... :D

I thought this game would be more like Tetris - meaning, it would be engaging and challenging and keep me interested for a long time. But after a while it just gets boring and frustrating. The goal is to clear the board by touching (with the stylus) 3 adjoining blocks of the same color which makes them disappear. To complicate things, more and more blocks appear from the bottom or top at varying speeds. To help, you can buy tools to blow up different blocks and slow down time and mix up the screen. But after a while it becomes monotonous and SO irritating! When a new level started and I saw the goal was to eliminate 300 rows of blocks I was ready to throw the thing through the window! At various times, you win coins that let you buy your way out of levels that you were unable (or unwilling) to solve so I just kept playing a particular puzzle that, when solved, paid out 500 coins. I played it over and over again until I earned 10,000 coins and then just bought my way through the game (Typical American - right?). They really tried to make the game fun with cute sound effects and fun music and clever gimmicks but for me, it just didn't catch on.

I have been an avid Collapse fan for years...often used as a stress reliever from a hectic day - even though playing it at the higher levels still gets my heart rate up. This handheld game does not disappoint me at all, even though others that played the PC game have said so. You cannot take a laptop/desktop to the doctor's office and the laptop is often cumbersome while traveling. So the answer is the Nintendo DS Lite version. After playing it again (got bored with my PC version) with the DS Lite, I find that I enjoy the newer challenges and it has really helped with visual reaction...that being said, I highly recommend it to those wanting to keep their brains fresh/active since the Flash Focus game and the Brain Age/Challenge games are so popular.
So for passing the time in a fun way, enjoying the challenges (quite varied in this version), and to keep your eyesight fresh - this may be the game for you. For those that have never played Collapse, get this game and you may even want it for your PC too so you can play it anywhere.

I always loved collapse, been playing it for a long time. I decided to give it a try in the Nintendo Ds format. I must say I was dissapointed. I think this game was made in order to be play in the computer. Smaller screens like the DS or PSP make the game hard to enjoy and play. I would recommend the game to anyone but the PC version.
