Not worth a penny December 29, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just bought this screen protector today for my DS, because it is crucial to keep scratches off the screens. I am quite dissapointed by what I got when I opened the package.
First there was a cloth that I was supposed to wipe of the screens with. This just made them dirtier and smeared them. Next, neither of the screen protectors fit the screen. The top one comes close but won't quite fit so it's very obvious you have a screen protector on. The bottom protector did not even cover all of the bottom screen! It also did not come with a sticky seal to protect it from marks during shipment. I'm also fairy certain something was missing when I bought it because there is no way for the bottom protector to cling to the screen. There is no sticky side, and no other apperatus to hold it on. Next, the top screen protector leaves a sticky white residue on the cornors when it is taken off. Finally, both screen protectors CAME with stratches and marks all over them, so after I had put them on, my DS looked like it had been dropped a few dozen times. I removed the screen protectors, cleaned my DS screen from all of the dirt and glue from the screen protectors, and threw this product in the garbage.
It's really a shame I didn't notice this was a pelican product before I bought it, because I've also had major problems with their wireless controlers.
Protecting your DS screens are important, but if you are careful it should not be a problem. Nintendo put much time into making the bottom screen scratch resistent. If you still want a screen protector, buy one from Nintendo, because this one is junk.
Horrible! December 13, 2005 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Screen protectors may seem a good idea to use, but I think it's not worth it. Unless put on perfectly, one may find air bubbles on the screen, even with the help of a "Soft Card". If one manages to put on correctly, however, more force is needed to activate the touch screen. These slips may reflect light a little too much, making it harder to see, and when used, the little marks from the stylus will contribute to an even harder to see screen. It's a very sticky mess, so if you do buy it, put it on with care, because it is very hard to get off again. Not reccomended. If you don't want your screen to scratch, take good care of it, because these won't help.
DO NOT BUY! December 9, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sure this item may sound like a good investment, but it's not! When you first put it on the screen has to be completely smudge and dust free, if it's not it will just make it worse. Then when you take it off it leaves adhesive all over the edges. I strongly suggest to avoid this accesory
The worst accessory November 11, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is by far the worst accessory you could put on your DS. The bottom screen looks grainy when applied and like some of you said, when you try to peel them off, you get a mess all over the screen and the soft card makes scratches to the protector. Please do yourself a favor and buy the Hori ones. It's a much better product.
works fine and pretty cheap October 20, 2005 I know it's not a licensed product by Nintendo, but it is only $5 retail, compare to the Hori brand, licensed, but for $10. Pelican works fine. The bottom part works to protect my touch screen while the top is protecting from my friends playing it and accidentally scratch the top screen. I haven't check about any residue after you take the film off yet, but I will when I change it next month. But the worst it can be is that the top screen border has some goo, it's easily fixed with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. As long as it doesn't hurt the screen itself I think it's fine. Well if I have more money maybe I will shell out for Hori, but for half the price, pelican does its job. I'd say buy it and try. if it doesn't work as well as you'd like, u can always buy the expensive one later.
