Best DS game I've played! September 2, 2008 This game utilizes the DS to the best degree I have seen in any of the games I've played. I'm a male college student, so I don't know about all of the games for real young kids, but this game is the best I have played on the DS. The story line is a little bit simple, but definitely fits a Zelda game. The difficulty is moderate, but the main story line is easy enough to complete, because the most challenging objectives are in the optional mini-games that you can participate in. The only downside of the whole game is the ending. I could be biased due to the fact that I very rarely like endings to good games, because I want to keep playing, but I found the last boss fairly easy to defeat and the ending to be a little bit sub-par compared to the rest of the game. Still, not a horrible ending, and it doesn't change the fact that it is a 5 star rating and the best DS game I have played.
4 stars only because... August 31, 2008 Because of the temple of the ocean king this game lost a star. Everything else is fun...but the temple is really difficult and stressful (you are timed). DO NOT turn off you DS in the temple, because even when you save the game you have to restart the temple. Everything else is great, controls are easy, and graphics are wonderful. Yeah, I reccomend this game to people who enjoy Rp.
Addicting August 29, 2008 Last time I played Zelda was on a Nintendo you hook up to a television 20 yrs ago. This DS version was a great entertainment. I got hooked instantly, and spent sleepless hours playing the game until the wee hours of the morning.
Amazing graphics/animation, and the battery lasts a very long time before needing to recharge. After I was done, I let my 5 yr old niece borrow it, and she's been at it endlessly for the last several days. It goes to show that it appeals to all ages from a child to an adult.
Very fun game in the Zelda series August 15, 2008 If you have ever played a Zelda game and enjoyed it, then I am sure you will enjoy The Phantom Hourglass. Touch screen controls take a little while to get used to, but once you do you'll find that they work very well and are fun to use. The graphics are very well done and don't effect the framerate or amount of content in the game.
The only major complaint may be sailing is very tedious and the backtracking many times to this certain temple may get very old.
Overall, still a very fun game
Best DS Game so far July 28, 2008 I've played through this game twice already, and keep getting amazed at the level of detail that Nintendo has put in the game. While hard-core fans might find the difficulty levels much lower than other Zelda games, the puzzles, the adventure, and the quests are still there. I loved it.
