5 out of 5 stars Best Choice, Hands Down   August 28, 2007
I found choosing a screen protector a difficult task, and one that I am glad that I am done with. After trying a few out, this is definitely the best. As far as I know, this is the only officially Nintendo licensed screen protector, meaning that there is no risk of voiding your warranty, and since you are probably getting this to protect your system, your DS warranty probably means something to you (however, please remember that my words are guaranteeing nothing.)

Screen protectors are NEVER easy to put on, and they can be incredibly frustrating no matter how well they are made. Don't expect the application process to go smoothly, and understand that you may need to purchase seconds if you ruin your first screen protector (I did). That's not to say that it's impossible, but be careful and take your time. Finding the least dusty room in your home will help too.

Good luck!

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful   August 23, 2007
I don't know why Amazon thinks this is a game... These are very nice filters They don't mess with the color of the screen or it's sensitivity. They are easy to apply and remove. And the cleaning cloth is useful.

5 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE PROTECTIVE SCREEN!!!!!   August 1, 2007
It can be tedious to apply on the DS, but it is one cumbersome task that any DS, DS Lite or electronic (anything w/ LCD display) owner cannot afford to go without. Make sure you have a can of compressed air (i.e Dust Off) when applying the protective screen. It will make the application process much easier. And try to initiate the application process in a minimal dust environment.

5 out of 5 stars great protection for DS screens   July 23, 2007

I bought a pack of crummy Pelican protectors at the local store, and they were really awful. I didn't use them at all, but ended up ruining them in the application process.

In comparison, these Japanese-made protectors from Hori are great. They are extremely easy to apply, and aren't magnets for dust like Pelican's. They look great, unless you notice the edge of the film you can hardly tell that it is there at all. Stylus use is smooth and accurate, and they are easy to wipe clean of rub marks and don't scratch much at all. I have been using them for about a month, on a new DS Lite with a couple of stylus heavy games, and they still look new. Also, they are pretty easy to remove, and do not leave any residue. Be careful, obviously, but they can come off if you want. That being said they aren't about to slip off on their own.

Only one caveat, I bought them from a marketplace seller who sold me the actual Japanese version. I believe that some Japanese ones are mislabeled which side of the film is "up" and which is to actually touch the screen. If you buy from the marketplace, double check, or if having trouble when applying, try flipping the protector. I had a little trouble with dust until I tried it backwards and then it when on super smooth.

3 out of 5 stars How does one mess up a sticky piece of plastic?   June 27, 2007

Okay, this thing does exactly what it is supposed to do, it protects the screen. Never mind that the plastic is not exactly fitted to the touch screen, leaving a gap on at least one side, let's let that go for a second, as it doesn't really leave enough room for any kind of stylus damage. I got these filters because the ones I got the last time went up in price and I didn't feel like paying 13 bucks for a piece of clear plastic. These filters, however, are way too cloudy for my liking and they don't wipe down that well, streaking instead of coming clean. If you're willing to put in the extra cash try getting one of the ClearTouch Screen Protector sets, either Anti-glare or Crystal types, both are good, easy to apply and come with a card to smooth the plastic during application and squeeze the bubbles out. Of course one could just use a credit card for this, but it's nice to have one included.
