Not worth it.... June 21, 2007 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this product at Best Buy a few weeks ago. I bought it pretty quick, not knowing that it really wasn't what I had wanted.
Does it play music? Yes, but not all mp3s play on it. I found that if a song has too much bass on it, it skips a lot. So if you're into Rammstein or any other bands that have that big beat sound forget it.
Does it play video? Yes, and it actually plays it very well...but in full screen no matter what. If you have a widescreen video it stretches it out. The sound and video are pretty much in sync all the way through the video.
Does it play homebrew? Umm yea to a point. It plays the games that come on the disk. But if you're looking for anything else you're gonna have a hard time finding anything. Without a DLDI driver made for this thing you can't save games and it won't play most homebrew out there.
So, all in all.....don't buy this thing unless you want to watch videos in full screen since thats all it can do well. At least save up your money for an R4 or an M3 which is what I'm buying in a few months to replace this item.
uh-uh, don't get this one! June 7, 2007 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
This thing is pretty much useless. It's ghetto. The only thing that I was able to download onto it was music and the songs sounded like they were skipping when I played it back on my DS. It says that it comes w/ 25 games on a disc but I haven't found them. Maybe it's just too complex, but I have no problem downloading onto MP3 players or my psp. Thank God I didn't waste too much $$$ on this piece of art. My advice is to buy a Nintendo lisenced product, or find a similar one with good reviews. I tried to put pictures on it and the DS screen has the pic's title with a question mark above it. WTF? (It's not your fault NDS, I still love you.)
