So being a fan of nintendo since I was 2 years old this game is a must have for me. I've been conjuring up to play this game for such a long time and fnally, here it is. This game is by far, the best wii game to have come out yet. I should not have to explain anything else, if you have a wii, buy this, don't listen to the negative reviews, unless you don't like to have fun, then be my guest and shoot yourself. :D

Epic Smashing Action March 11, 2008 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Super Smash Bros. Melee quickly became a hit, making many huge improvements over its prececessory. There were more characters, better graphics, and all around more to do. But people still wanted more. Some of the moves could have used tightening up. More attention could have been paid to the single player modes, and more characters were always welcome.
Cue Brawl.
Huge, several-hour-long single player campaign is here along with the return of "Classic" mode where you go pick a character and fight several battles one after another. The Stadium matches with Target Test and Multi-Man Melee have returned with an additional "Boss Battle" mode unlockable after beating the main Adventure Mode, the Subspace Emissary.
Speaking of the Subspace Emissary--wow. It does get repetative near the end, but it's great to watch all of Nintendo's finest in glorious Wii graphics interact and fight through to the conspirator at the top. And Master Hand, the main boss of previous "Smash Bros." games, finally has his motives revealed.
Versus Mode, the main focus of Smash Bros. is largely the same with some tune-ups and small improvements. But it was great before and it's greater now.
New additions are a stage-creator, small previews of the game's characters' shining moments in their own games, an improvement on the Coin Lottery used for attaining Trophies in "Melee" and of course, at long last, Wi-Fi capabilities.
As for new characters: Meta Knight and King Dedede have made it from Kirby's universe. Ike comes to replace Roy from the land of Fire Emblem. Dr. Mario has been removed for being mostly pointless and a power suit-less "Zero Suit" Samus has joined at long last. Solid Snake, the legendary soldier from the spectacular Metal Gear Solid franchise made a surprising appearance along with Sega's speediest hedgehog, Sonic. All the characters, new and old, control flawlessly and fighting feels more gritty and visceral compared to the somewhat "floaty" actions in Melee.
And of course is the addition of the "Smash Balls" that, when borken, envoke tremendous power in whoever broke them, adding a new dynamic to gameplay.
I could go on about this for a long time, but I'll try to sum it up. If you liked either of the previous Smash Bros. games, you'll absolutely love this. If you've never played one, there's no better place to start than here. I played it for about eight hours on release yesterday and probably at least six today. It's that addictive! This is, without a doubt, the best game right now to own on the Wii.
Pick it up (if you can find it.) You won't regret it.
