1 out of 5 stars Bad shot physics, bad drive physics, bad game...   June 4, 2007

I go out and buy nba 2k7 because i thought it would be a great game...i was wrong. i remembered the old nba 2k series for dream cast and how great it was...and then as soon as i started playing i remebered how horrible it was after it changed to ps2, and ps3 is no different. the graphics are the best ive seen for a basketball game, that is no question. but ive never missed more lay-ups, free-throws (w/ and w/o the sixaxis style shooting) and the shot stick?? wtf is a shot stick... i played a regular season game where ben wallace...THE NBAS WORST FREETHROW SHOOTER, goes 13/13 at the line...gimme a breeaakk...not to mention the commentary is bad...oh soooo bad...i heard them say repeatedly after i hit 3's for jason kapono (nbas #1 3pt shooter in 06-07) that it was not his range but he got lucky?? WHAT?!?! the post moves are garbage..shaq was posting on a pg and the pg was holding him back...im sorry i didnt know they put mighty mouse hacks in this game...i really am dissapointed with the game overall...looks great...but plays horrible. on top of everything...if you have never used the left analog stick for "aggressive" juke moves, forget it...theres no tutorial or help, nor a mention in the instruction manual...some of the shots are signature and the freethrow forms look good but accuracy on player stats is a joke...sorry but save your money or buy nba 07 the life...better gameplay lose out on graphics but id take gameplay over graphics any day...and for those who are going to flame take your game off of rookie play on an average level at least...if you play rookie then everyone makes everything...too easy...

1 out of 5 stars This game is awful   May 31, 2007

NBA 2k7 screws you over every chance you get. Whether it be ridiculous shooting fouls, your guy randomly running out of bounds, every single bounce going the computer's way (literally...whenever there's a loose ball not only does the computer get it, but the ball bounces towards the computer's player), ridiculous shots made by the computer with three hands in their face (and your chance of making a wide open shot is less than 25%, including lay ups), or obvious blocking fouls being missed (your guy gets shoved back across the half court line and no foul is called), this game is not worth 2k sports paying you to play it. The only way you can enjoy this game is to simulate through your seasons and not play a single game. All the talk of this game being realistic is far-fetched at best, and you are in for unnecessary stress if you buy this waste of money and time.

While the graphics aren't as good as you'd expect considering all the hype the Playstation 3 has received over the last several months, the actual game is pretty good. The controls in NBA 2K7 are never a major problem, and the graphics are very good. Still, the graphics aren't that much of a drastic leap forward compared to the Playstation 2 basketball games, and that probably means this game is going to be forgotten one day.

Also, the music is pretty annoying (what little I've heard) but using the motion senser is a nice, innovative touch. It might take a while getting used to the controls, but one day I think we'll all improve with them.

The positives are pretty good, though. If you like basketball and own a PS3, there's no reason not to own this game.
