Cheesy stickers, overall good January 28, 2008 I haven't had this long. But it seems to charge the controllers just fine.
The connection isn't very tight, so that's a minus. They also ask you to put these stickers on there that have the nyko logo, they are supposedly to keep the controllers from getting scratched when you plug it in.
I'm a little worried that it will loosen or somehow damage the connection, but overall, I like it, and I'm going to keep using it. Now, I just need a couple more controllers to fill it up.
Works Well But Finicky January 19, 2008 This charger does what it's supposed to do, charging both of my controllers quite quickly, however it really is a bit of a hassle to seat the controllers ever so exactly into the receiving USB port. I find it's easier if I hold the controller by its ends, rather than front and back. It does seem to me they could have engineered this better to make the seating more solid.
Great! January 18, 2008 This charger works great and does what it is supposed to. Only neg. comment would be the same as others have said. It can be hard to line up the hole in the controller with the slot on the charger, but just takes a little time and patience.
Neat and Clean January 18, 2008 After secretly planning to hook up our new Playstation 3 to the new plasma in the living room, it was imperative that the "junk" factor (cables, controllers, game cases, etc) be kept to a minimum. This charger base definitely fits the bill. It's fairly compact, and can be placed out of the way to store and charge the two controllers we own.
The good news is it's fast, compact, and even slightly fashionable. We've been using it for about a month and charges have been rapid. It's become a "non-issue" tool...one that we don't think about anymore because it works without problems or tweaking.
Other reviewers who have expressed concern about the difficulty of mating the controllers with the charger are correct. It's a bit of a challenge to connect the USB opening on the controller with the USB portion of the charger. However, after attempting it for a couple of days, I'm getting the hang of it. My teenage son has had no trouble at all, so get a teenage son to do it.
Overall, even with the connection challenges, I couldn't do without this. Definitely recommend!
NOT good January 18, 2008 I bought this thinking it would charge my controllers. Unfortunately it doesn't~! It either charges one and doesn't charge the other or when it does charges it doesn't take 3 hours to complete the full entire charge. I charge it before I got to sleep and when I wake up in the morning the red light is still on meaning it's still charging. Sometimes when I have the controllers charged and I go use it and I play like 5 mins and it tells me that my controller needs to be charged.
