Okay...could have been MUCH better... April 13, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well what can I say? I was just a little disappointed with this game, but maybe my expectations were just a little to high. For one thing, the song list was anything but great. The title of the game is "Legends of Rock" and what do you get.....The Beastie Boys and Pat Benatar? Come on now...their were so many better choices, say Led Zepelin, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, etc... I was impressed with some of thier choices, such as "When You Were Young", "Cites On Flame with Rock and Roll", "Pride and Joy", "The Metal", and "One", however, as I think they are all fun to play. They did make hammer ons a little easier in this instillation, which I was happy about, however, the fret board was made smaller, making it harder to hit those hard solos. Another problem with this game is how they make songs considerably harder on levels when they should not. Take that Slayer song for example, that song(on hard) is much harder then pretty much any song on the previous Guitar Hero instillations, on EXPERT! "One" is another song I was whole heartedly displeased with near the end of the song. Overall the game could have been much better...
This game wreaks of fun-ness. April 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Almost all the songs are excellent. You can play for a long time and just wanna play more. I personally have all three guitar heroes and this one is the best for sure. The PS2 version is missing a couple of songs that the XBox 360 includes. So obviously if you have both systems, get the XBox version. BTW, this is NOTHING like playing a real guitar so don't buy it to help learn guitar or anything. It is just to pretend like you're playing a guitar.
This Mom Is a ROCK LEGEND! March 19, 2008 ....it says so on the screen! I love this game! I'm not a big video game fan, but Guitar Hero III ROCKS! Our whole family just loves it. I'm a 31 y.o. mother of three and I bought this game for myself. Now I make my kids be my audience and cheer for me. It's just fun, easy to learn, and makes everyone laugh. My kids ask if it's going to be a "Rock Out" night....(we do let them play too!)
Teenager's dream game March 8, 2008 My son & his friends love to play this game and act like rock stars. One thing that makes it cool to them is that you don't just hold the guitar and press buttons. There is a whammy bar on the guitar and you can earn "star power" that makes you able to hold the neck of the guitar straight up to get crowd reaction. Very well-written game with lots of options, songs, and fun.
