A lot better gaming choice for the family August 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We own guitar Hero and Rockband. This is a lot better choice for the family for 2 major reasons. First, the graphics on Guitar Hero are terrible. They are not appropriate for kids. Second, on Rock Band lets you play longer before you get booed off, giving the smaller kids more of a chance to figure the game out. Beyond these two major things it is just a lot of fun for everyone, with several features that we enjoy!
I am Amazed! August 31, 2008 I bought this from the Amazon place for slightly damaged items, and so I was expecting something wrong, but there wasn't. The only thing wrong was that a corner was smushed in a bit, which literally affected nothing because everything was so securely packaged, if anyone is wondering whether everything will be fine, YES! they even put everything in an extra box to ensure nothing happened. I highly reccomend this item (Rock Band) and this seller, because you cannot beat the price. I saved $50.00.
malvernfamily August 31, 2008 the product is a lot of fun. my son had actually started taking drum lessons as a result of playing rockband. however, we had to replace the drum pedal with a wooden one purchased on-line and already had to return the drum pads to EA for a replacement. So, while the software is terrific, the hardware is not well made.
Disappointing August 31, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I haven't played Rock Band for other gaming systems, aside from Wii. I have played Guitar Hero on other systems--and they are MUCH better than this Rock Band. There aren't enough songs on Wii Rock Band. There is no personalization--you can't modify your band's characters, the videos are the same each time...My husband is so disappointed, he quickly gave up and left me to play by myself. Defeats the purpose! The song list is so short--and there are no directions that say how the song lists work--you have to work through each level/act to access the next set of songs.
What a bummer.
Our family ROCKS! August 30, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My 10yr old couldn't wait to get Rockband...Now the whole family plays and has a blast! I think it has brought out the inner rock star in all of us...probably better off being left at home... The drums are alittle harder to learn, and like any drums the banging will make you alittle nuts, I suggest putting the game in a play room or bedroom. I don't know what I was thinking agreeing to the family room!
