HEED THE MODERN CALL September 21, 2008
After years of fighting the third reich,the acclaimed "Call of Duty" franchise has finally decided to wake and smell the automated coffee.Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare tells the stories of both an S.A.S operative and a Marine as they both fight to rid the world of the same evil.While playing as the S.A.S you will primarily be doing the "behind enemy lines" type of work, i.e. clearing villages/locating captives and espionage,while as a marine you will basically be laying down nonstop fire as you and your compadres perform the old hostile takeover of the entire region.Call of Duty 4 contains some of the most insane and heartstopping set pieces ever seen.Whether you are crawling through fields with tanks rolling past your head,escaping a sinking cargo ship or running from a crashing chopper, you will be constantly entertained.Graphically and gameplay wise,this game is superior.All of the evironmental and human characters are fully textured:dust/snow/fire and even the dog tags look exceptional.Multiplayer is no slouch either.Call of Duty 4 allows you to rise through the ranks as you progress through multiplayer matches and provides some of the most intense fights ever online.Playing out like the best hollywood action epic, Call of Duty 4 has earned "Game of the Year".I was never more satisfied with a purchase and I hope that you will enjoy it as well.Now get out there and lay down some covering fire.Hooaa!

The Call of Duty series enters the modern era with a vengeance with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Offering both a robust single-player campaign, and the best multiplayer experience on either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, this is a game that's likely to sit in your system for a long, long time.
The graphics are absolutely astounding, and the game is locked at a silky smooth 60fps. Although I played on a 1080p display, I'm sure it'll look just as good on an SD display.
Basically, if you're a fan of shooters you owe it to yourself to pick up this game. Forget Halo 3. Call of Duty 4 is where it's at!

If you like to play the story modes on FP shooters this game will do ok, it has great graphics and the overall experience is pretty decent.
BUT, is you like to play online forget about it.
The makers of the game apparently did not invest $$$ on good servers and you have to "wait" actually up to an hour to get into action.
The online experience is pretty frustrating no matter how fast is your connection.
A game that you CANT play it when you WANT to play it is pretty worthless in my book.

ok so i bought the game of the year edition thinking i could save some cash because its "supossed" to come with the variety map pack and it didn't even come with anything no little paper with code on it or whatever just the booklet game disk and case and it was factory sealed!!!ita BS just buy the regular game and save yourself a big headache
A little bit disapointed August 29, 2008
COD4 is a great shooter game but I was expecting much more after reading all the reviews from many experts and even for this game been chosen the game of the year 2007. Resistance is still my first shooter game for PS3, maybe because I prefer to play offline, by the way COD4 is one of the best games to play online..
