4 out of 5 stars Possibly one of the Best games I have ever played.   October 10, 2008

Game Of The Year.. IT'S on the COVER for goodness sakes!!

Coming from a seasoned hardcore gamer, this game has left nothing behind. Both the single player and muliplayer aspects of this game are nothing short of astounding.

Just when I thought gameplay just couldn't get any better for a FPS, this game came out and just blew everything I knew about FPS out of the water.
Everything down to the intuitive button configurations and ability to modify button configurations is just fantastic.

The story line is phenominal and totally realistic. The physics are barnone the best I have ever seen/experienced. The weapons are as real as they come, and the multiplayer environment is fast paced and well thought out.

Introduction to class creation, weapon customization, ranking and xp points unlocking various weapons, and challenge bonuses just make the replayability of this game endless. Sure a few of these just mentioned have existed before in other games, however I don't think that they have all been combined and interweaved so beautifully. Also, when you get to rank 55, you get to make a tough choice.. I won't spoil it for you, you will find out when you get there.

The graphics are some of the best I have ever seen in a game, and is up there on par with Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and Gran Turismo 5 Prologe.

Going back to the storyline, in the single player mode seeing the nuke's being launched and a nuke being detonated gave me goose bumps and brought a tear to my eye. Bringing back memories of what all our forebearers gave their lives so selflessly to protect us from such evil.. just phenominal.

AHH Yes you knew it was coming... the CONS or downsides of the game.
1. OPEN MICS!! Sounds like a GREAT idea right? Well not so much. You have people playing that have a fan blowing on them, or aspiring to be a future rap star, or music in the background, or kids crying in the background, or parents yelling at their kids.. well you get the idea.(Just.. should have integrated a button to activate mic channel) To be fair, you can selectively mute people, but you shouldn't have to do so to begin with.
2. The lack of a server based online environment like Socom 3 has. Which makes it more difficult to locate friends if they are already in a game.
Yes you can invite a freind into the game, or have a "party" before launching the auto find game feature. But a friend saying "Yea, I'm in US Central 5 Server, Game Name is Yo Momma" system I think is better suited for online gaming. Perhaps having both features would be more helpful than just one or the other.
3. The complete meaninglessness of clan tags, anyone can dupe your clan tag without being invited to the clan. In Socom, you sent out invites to clans, in this game you just type it in without any control of the clan.
4. Seperate map pack.. now comon, I just spent 60 bucks on this game and you want to double dip another $10 out of me for 3 more maps? Get real guys, just include the maps to begin with please. To this day I have not purchased the map pack and don't really wish for more levels to begin with.
5. The knack of you being able to spot someone 200 yards away with the naked eye and pick them off seems a little unrealistic. But I think this gets caulked up to HD graphics/HD Tv's to be honest with you. We for so many years have been squinting at that dern TV saying.. honey come here, is that a guy in the bushes? So that when we can finally SEE what we are doing it just becomes unnatural feeling somehow.

Overall the cons do not outweigh the benefits by a long shot, and do yourself a favor and get this GAME!! You will have a hard time putting down the controller, I guarantee it!!

5 out of 5 stars Quite simply, the best....   October 9, 2008
COD4 is hands down the best FPS of all time. The exhilarating graphics, the intuitive controls, the immersive atmosphere (case in point: the opening scene) all interconnect to give you the best first-person shooter ever.

And that's just for the single player campaign...

The multiplayer option is like a culture unto itself. Easily the best online experience that I've had thus far.

Perhap my only gripe would be the lack of a co-op feature or two-player campaign mode.

5 out of 5 stars Intense!!!   October 9, 2008
I am a very picky gamer. I lose interest quickly. In this case the game played very well, had a good story line and it took me a while to beat it. The replayability factor is also high as you can start the campaign over again on a more difficult level. Additional weapons can be located and used. Enjoy!

I just got this game for a friend and when he opened he just told me it didn't had any coupon for the Maps, that's a crap the info says it have the maps in this version, will try contacting amazon, but really disappointing about it.

5 out of 5 stars Want to be a Marine?   October 4, 2008
I'm a big fan of war games and movies, and none of these games or movies gave me the feeling that I'm fully inside a battle the way Call of Duty 4 do.

The graphics are excellent, sounds are superior, story line is awesome, and the game play is very realistic. I don't know any other game where helicopters support you with their fire while you are fighting on ground, other games simply shows helicopters when they drop or pick you up.

I love the way soldiers interact with each other, and how they warn you of any near by danger as grenade or a hidden enemy soldier.

When you are fighting the un-named Arab country (I think we all know which country it is as we can see it from the map!) most of the battles take place between buildings, so I think it simulates what is going on now in Iraq.

This game is so good that when you hear enemy soldiers speak with each other, they really describe what is going on now or what they are going to do next, and it is not just a random play of sound tracks, you can hear the Arab terrorist speak with each other "Let's go to the second floor" and then they show up on the second floor, or when one of them spot a Marine he scream to warn his friends "US Marine" or some times they just say "Infidels".

One sentence they say it grammatically wrong which alter the meaning, when a terrorist is injured they scream "a man is right" instead of "a man is down".

There is something funny in the game, most of the Arab terrorist banners, or the graffiti on the wall says in Arabic "Infinity Ward", especially the big black banner on the building where "Khalid Al Asad" executed a hostage.
