4 out of 5 stars Great Fun, Good Product   December 2, 2005

First off I'm tired of all these reviews by Playstation fanatics that don't even own a 360. And no, playing one at Best Buy doesn't count. You don't get the whole experience from the 360 without XBOX Live. Then people complain on the $50.00 price of games. Hello? Take a look at the price of the new releases for Gamecube and the PS2. Same price. Duh. And people complaining about the system having widespread flaws. Fact, there are only between 3% to 5% of the units that are having problem. With any new product, including when the PS2 came out, there is always a defect rate of about 3%. Okay so the 360 problems are about the same then as every other unit on it's release. Price, I remember when the PS2 came out it ran $300.00. I believe the low end price 360 is....hey....$300.00. I can understand if you are a hardcore Playstation or Nintendo fan. But you have to give the 360 it's dues. It is GREAT fun, and a good product (meaning sure it has room for improvement, everything does). And the claime that you need $100.00 for an internet adapter by another of the reviewers. False. The 360 has a built in hardline ethernet adapter. Now if you want a wireless adapter, then yes you will have to pay. And on the price of a wireless controller....I just bought a wireless controller for my PS2 about 6 months ago, it cost me....suprise about $60.00. $10.00 more than one of these reviewers is complaining about. I am not a die hard XBOX fan. I own gamecube, PS2, XBOX, and now the 360. And I probably will buy the PS3 when it comes out. But take your review from a person who likes video gaming consoles period. This is a good unit, it is GREAT fun, and I look forward to what the game programers can do with it a year from now. Look at the difference between Halo 1 & Halo 2.

There are no xbox 360's in the stores, but yet on any given day there are over 10,000 for sale on ebay?! I honestly believe that microsoft planned this--if you can't find an xbox 360, at least you'll be in the stores and buy something in its place. This is ridiculous. I saw one person had 40 units for sale on ebay for $1000 each. I'm guessing he's the manager of a Target store so it seems?

Microsoft has made plenty of units on hand, they just choose to release a few at a time.

Wonder what would happen if everyone just STOPPED the frenzy and let them sit on the shelves? With all the problems everyone who is playing them are having, is it worth the money and trouble to stand in line? Hard drives crashing, red lights staying on, etc.

I believe what others say on the xbox 360 there are a ton of problems with it and they want a grand for it here on amazon and 1000 to 2000 dollars for it on ebay. People should just wait till the hype goes down and all the kinks and knots and problems of the game are out of it then get it perfect 50 to 100 dollars cheaper and a few games in the bundle with an extra controller and month subscription to xbox live gold. seriously think of the money being burned out of your wallet and wait till next year. One of the other things that nothered me with this is that xbox live silver only lets you go on to download things, watch trailers, chat and talk with friends, and view upcoming games but not play games live which is why you need xbox live gold. Why cant they make it free they've already made billions why do they need more money. The advice on games is get Call of Duty: 2 and Perfect Dark Zero and an extra controller and for the real gamers and beginners 12 month gold subsriptions are 59.99 and 1 month is 8.99. One of the good things of this system is that its your own personal DVR and can record live television. It also hooks up to your pc and uses that aswell. You can go on the internet i think at least on your xbox 360 plus you'd be able to brag to all your friends about it otherwise just wait for a few months. B)

if you like playing games online then this is the system for you.... xbox makes you pay a small fee to play online... this is a good thing.... because xbox live bans its cheaters the other system does not and there online play is loaded with cheaters and there for no fun
