I got this game yesterday hoping that it would be along the lines of Hitman, very open ended, different weapons, and requiring stealth. After a few hours of playing I am quite disappointed. First, this is amazingly linear, yes you can wander around the cities or countryside, but the completion of your mission is usually pretty straight forward after you find where you have to go. Second, the comabat is repeptitive, just keep mashing the X and RT button. Third, stealth is not valued at all in this game. You can slaughter an entire square full of people, walk away, and no one knows you are a killer. Fourth, the AI, which is supposed to be awesome, is no different from any other game the people are just cattle. Last, the missions are long and take forever to just get to your objective, which you usually finish pretty quickly once you get there. And I do not find the little side challenges of collecting flags and banners interesting. If I wanted to do that I would play Tony Hawk.
All the negatives aside, the acting in it is some of the best I have seen in a video game, the graphics and sound are very well done......As an older 360 owner I guess I expected something that required more thought than this, it is just a lot of button mashing for me. I am bummed since the premise had a lot of potential. I am taking this back and trading it in for something else.

Holy cow this game rocks. I'm not that far into it and I can already tell this is "one of those game" like others before it this is a game that will set a bar and hopefully challenge developers to reach it. It just feels so natural and the environment looks so lived in and dirty but in a good way. It sounds awesome and best yet custom soundtracks (That rocks) it's still early yet but if what I have played is any indication HOLY COW the best is yet to come

I've never seen a game in my life with this much detail put it the citys; they really do feel like a living breathing city.
Graphics are great, sound is great, animations, are great and lots of detail.
I've only played played past the first major assassination (love those because the whole town alarm goes off) however i really can't find much to complain about other than the story line is a little odd with that memory and future thing, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a great game.

From the opening sequence to a bit into the game I must say that this game is breathtaking! There are so many things to learn in this game and it really keeps it interesting!
My favorite thing to do so far is climb the buildings and jump into the haystacks. You can pickpockets, eavesdrop, and be an Assassin!
I know this is a short review but honestly this game is great! With all of the must-have games this year (Mario, Metroid, Halo 3, Bioshock, COD4, the future Mass Effect, Rock Band, GTH3, and this one) this is one of the best holiday seasons for gamers of all time! Assassin's Creed is easily one of the best games of the year...A must have!!!

I've been waiting for this game since I saw an add online about 6 months ago. It was said to be the first truly next-gen experience, but a day before its release, IGN's review made it out to be "not worth while." Guess what. They were oh so wrong. Amazing graphics, smooth movements, interesting story, insane free running/climbing, and great controls/combat. Some of the most fun I've had on my 360. Definitely a game to pick up for anyone who enjoys good old fashioned single player gaming. (Don't worry, the sequel will have online play!)
