5 out of 5 stars Great game whether you're 8 or 80   April 8, 2004

I hadn't played a video game to any extent for probably 15 years when my son got this game given to him by my nephew last year. He loved it and immediately started playing it, so I checked it out. I quickly became completely hooked. I have now beat all the boss levels and are going back and cleaning up the gems and relics.

And that leads me to my second point. One of the best things about the game is that, even after you beat the game, there is still a lot to do. At each level, you collect boxes; you can get through the level fairly easily (thus earning the crystal), but even then there are still several goals at each level. Each level also have one or more gems (which you earn by collect all the boxes), and several relics (which you collect by getting through the level in a certain period of time). These are not easy! I beat the game (i.e. got all the crystals) within several weeks of playing the game; but I am still (months later) only up to 50% on the gems and relics. You certainly get your money's worth from this game, even more than the previous Crash title (Crash 2). Of course, it's got many secret levels and other hidden goodies as well.

As far as family-friendliness, it's lower than Crash 2, but still quite high on the scale. Crash does wield a gun, which bothered me a little. But there are two compensating factors: (1) the gun shoots fruit, not bullets; and (2) none of the foes are human, either animal or robot (when you get to the bonus world you discover that the bad guys that look like humans are actually robots - you see their assembly line). It looks like the game designers went out of their way to avoid having you shoot at other people, which I for one greatly appreciate. Like the other Crash games, the vast majority of the foes are either vanquished by jumping on them or "spin-moving" or "sliding" them (both of which just knock the opponent out of the way), or you simply escape from them. There are also the TNT boxes, which you jump on then have 3 seconds to escape before they explode. There are a few cases where you need to get rid of foes using the TNT boxes. Like the previous Crash games, the violence that is in the game is very comical, however, with no blood or gore.

The graphics are a bit dated (being from the late 90's). Some kids may thus turn up their noses at the game. That's unfortunate, because it's a great game. Only playing the newest, latest thing is both expensive and gives short-lasting pleasures.

Will adults like it? I don't know, but they should: In my view, games unsuitable for kids are not actually suitable for anybody. In any case, *this* adult certainly does like it.

Get it, whether you're 8 or 80. You won't regret it.

im gonna break down this reveiw into the 5 game catogories. graphics gameplay sound storyline controls. graphics- wow crash bandicoot warped has the probally the best graphics on ps one i do mean that. there like ps2 graphics almost a beautifal amount of polish and color excellent. gameplay- basic crash elements but whats wrong with that. there are some new additions though like riding on a tiger a dinosaur several flight rounds better bosses nothing much but good fun neverthless. sound- good sound the sound effects are solid and the music is basically a lot like the other two games but it sounds slightly less childish thank god. controls- you know same old same old good controls as always. storyline- pretty good uka uka wants cortex to get ris of crash so he creates a stage of rooms then hires cortex who helped him break out of prizon. crash bandicoot warped is a fun must have game for all crash fans.

5 out of 5 stars The Bandicoot is back   December 23, 2003

The Crash games for playstion are very fun games, even better than the mario games. Out of the Crash seires I think this one is the best. There are alot of thing you can do and the bosses rock. The story line is the best in this game. It takes plase after Crash2 were Dr.Cortex ship falles down on a temple, wich releses a demon mask. The mask that pertected crash in the first two games stats talking and tells crash that the evil mask is his Brother and his plan to build a time machine to get crystles to
destroy earth. The replay vaule is high and the gamplay is fun, you won't be able to put this game down for awile.

3 out of 5 stars Crash Bandicoot: Warped, the relic announcer   November 10, 2003

Hi, I'm Aaron. I leave you at where I started to make reviews about the Crash series. I love the first one the best. The save systems are better, and the game intro's many new Crash-rides. I cannot bilieve what a big deal people make about the graphics [ but I like the ones in "The Wrath of Cortex" the best ]. And I think the new "you can play with Coco" is so cool. And I think that I need to leave a cheat. To unlock secret level 31: Hot Coco, smash a sign with an alien and cross bones on level 14. To unlock super secret level 32: Eggipuss Rex, collect 10 relics and stand on the platform that appears when you collect 5 relics. Choose level 27 and complete it to collect the yellow gem. Than, go to level 11. When you come to the yellow gem platform, use it to get to the secret area. When you come to area where the dinosaur chases you, run away and you will see flying dinosaurs that fly into the sky. Jump into the claws of the 2nd flying dinosaur to get to the secret level. And I should mension that this is the first Crash game I ever tried. That is what I have to say. And sorry on my other reviews that I made some pretty dumb mistakes.
