5 out of 5 stars One of the Best Games Ever   March 13, 2008
This is probably the most played game as a child. And it was the funnest game ever. the only reason this is not on VC is because they know they'll lose money; it comes with Mario bros, Super Mario bros 1, 2, and 3, and Super Mario World and more I think. I played this until my hands bled.

4 out of 5 stars Great Game   October 17, 2007
I really enjoy this 4 in 1 game, it has all of the NES classics, and it's really fun (plus, once you get bored or frustrated with one of the games on there, you can switch to another one on the same cartridge!!!). My only (very slight) dissappointment is that it is a Mario game for Super Nintendo, and it does not have Super Mario World on there...that blows my mind....hahaha.

Anyway, it is worth having in a collection, if you still really enjoy SNES games. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I orginally received MARIO ALL-STARS with a SNES I purchased. My son took the game with him when he moved... I purchased it again to have in my stash of video game gems. The only drawback on this edition -it does not include MARIO WORLD as the edition that was bundled with the NES system.

At any rate -the game is awesome!! As all Mario fans can attest to.

It's worth all the stars and mushrooms in the world!

5 out of 5 stars OH YEAH   September 7, 2007
Finally, the game everybody's waiting for. Actually games, since this is a 4 in one game!!! When I first got my SNES, Super Mario World and Super Mario All Stars came with it. Mario World 3 is probably the best, because there are 8 worlds, many secret places, and a 2 player battle function, which rocks!
In Mario land 2, well, it's the one where you are able to grasp items from the ground. There's not too much excitement in that game.
But both Secret levels and original Mario are nearly alike, except that Mario Secret levels is soooo hard to aquire in other systems.
I love this game, and suggest it to everyone, because everybody likes Mario games, don't they???

5 out of 5 stars Four games, one great cart...   May 12, 2007

-Mario All Stars is a lot of fun period. This SNES cart has Mario 1, Mario 2: The Lost Levels (released only in Japan), Mario 2, the U.S. version and Mario 3. All four games have updated graphics, much crisper than the original and there's also a save feature that allows you to save up to four files on each game.

-Mario 1: Basically the same, like I said much better graphics, the game gets pretty hard near the end, but it's great to play especially for that nostalgic feeling your bound to get if you played this on the NES. Fun game overall.

-Mario 2-The Lost Levels: I'll be honest I've never sat down long enough to beat this one. It is pretty hard at times, there are even poison mushrooms that take away your powered up form and a lot more enemies seem to be put on the screen than the previous Mario. Decent game for what I've played of it.

-Mario 2-The U.S. version: A weird but good one here. Some people don't like this one, because it departed from the traditional mario gameplay, but I liked the changes. This one has Mario, Luigi, Toad and Toadstool trying to thrwart Wart (sorry couldn't help that one) a toad or frog whatever you want to call him, that has evil intentions for the world. The basic premise is you pick one of the characters before each level and throw vegetables at enemies to kill them. I liked how each character had different strengths and weaknesses, Mario is average across the board, Luigi can jump really high but is average otherwise, Toad can pull and throw vegetables really fast, but can't jump very high and Toadstool can float briefly, but has poor pulling power. It's understanbly different from other Mario games, but I find it to be a lot of fun.

-Mario 3: The best of the games in my opinion. It features eight worlds that Mario must conquer in order to rescue the Princess. There are many powerups you can get, besides the mushroom, flower and star, there's the leaf-allows you to fly for a brief period after you build up some speed, the power wing-makes it so you can fly through the whole level as long as you don't get hit. Others include, the Racoon Suit-you can fly plus turn into a statue briefly to avoid getting hit, the Hammer Bros. suit-which allows you to throw hammers and shield yourself from attacks. There are others, but those are the best ones, I also loved how you can save items you collect and use them when you need them. I loved the world map feature and also liked how the worlds got progressively harder as the game advances, worlds seven and eight are the hardest to beat in my opinion.

Pros:

-The graphics are great improved, much crisper and richer in color.

-The gameplay is still great.

-The save feature is a major plus.

-Everything great about the original games were kept the same.

Cons:

-Nothing really.

This is well worth the purchase, you get four games in one cart, plus there all classic Mario games so how can you go wrong with that.
