Best way to keep a family with kids entertained for hours. September 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was a good game to purchase. It arrived quickly and setting it up was a breeze. It was all ready to go, my whole family loved it.
a great game September 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This feature keeps the game fresh and is an outlet when a tough songs is wiping you out. But the single greatest improvement is that you are no longer restricted to the guitar....you can play other instruments, or just go at it karaoke style.
A must for original fans or those new to the series September 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
By now everyone has heard of the game that swept the nation by allowing you to play as your favorite rocker or create an original one and play your favorite rock songs. Well, Rock Star is back and it improves upon its predecessor by offering a number of new features. Features like on line multi player. This is a much welcomed addition to the series. No longer are you bound to search for friends to experience this game - just find them on line. Rock Band 2 presents a fully loaded jukebox at your disposal (84 songs), plus you are able to download songs from their website. There is a tradeoff, however. You first must unlock the songs before you are able to play them.....you unlock them by playing through the solo instrument tours.
The gamplay has also been updated from its predecessor. By increasing the difficulties of the songs, your accomplishments in the game feel truly earned and the level of satisfaction you'll feel when you finally master songs from artists like Metallica, is truly something. Ah, gratification....it's such an overlooked feature in most games. Another great addition to the series are specifically oriented challenges. This feature keeps the game fresh and is an outlet when a tough songs is wiping you out. But the single greatest improvement is that you are no longer restricted to the guitar....you can play other instruments, or just go at it karaoke style.
* Online playis not available for the PS2.
Rock Band is fun for the whole family! September 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Rock band is great! Everyone from the 4 year old to the 74 year old in my family enjoys it. The only problem I have found is that drums are not good for people with carpal tunnel. Guitar can be hard on them too if you play enough. Better to stick to singing and/or use your braces if you have a problem with this.
For Those About to Rock, Get This Game! September 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Rock Band is the ultimate music experience no matter what console you have or if you're by yourself or with friends. Any instrument is fun to pick up and play, even though I haven't opened up the mic yet. I don't sing, and don't blame me :P. But anyways, the game is fun for anyone with any or no musical background. As a drummer, the first instrument I played with was, of course, the drums. For me, it was pretty easy to get used to. If you're playing on an HD or LCD TV do not forget to calibrate the lag! Trust me on this one. I think no matter what version you got, whether it was PS2, PS3, Wii, or 360, you're going to have lots of fun.
