5 out of 5 stars I have four of these.   March 12, 2006

I bought one to make sure that they worked well. I liked it so much I bought three more, so that four people can all play at the same time. As far as precision, functionality and quality goes, I can't tell the difference between these and the wired controller that came with my X-Box.

4 out of 5 stars Great controller (takes some getting used to)   February 27, 2006

I purchased this controller after finally getting fed up with using the ones my dog got ahold of. The wireless freedom is great in that it is very easily stored and kept out of the way. The battery life has been great so far, and once you get used to the feel of the controller its hard to tell the difference from the regular old Xbox brand. The range of the controller seems satisfactory although I haven't used it much farther than about 20 feet.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding controller, works great even if blocked   February 27, 2006

After reviewing the Logitech wireless controller for the PS2 (which got an equal rating of complete satisfaction) I decided to give this one a try.

Long story short, this is the best controller I've ever used for the Xbox. It feels almost exactly like a standard Microsoft controller. But while the original controllers for the system give a forgiving extra length on the cord, sometimes it's nice to just play from farther away or without wanting to tangle or trip on those cords. This controller does the trick. Solidly built and with great battery life (some have mentioned as high as 75 hours; I've already surpassed that and my Logitech for the PS2 hasn't changed batteries in months- you may want to turn vibration off to give the batteries much more life though) and extremely flexible range, I can't imagine anyone not using this controller exclusively once they purchase it.

As with the PS2 version, I gave this controller a major test: My girlfriend sleeps while I play at night sometimes, so I place a wadded towel or blanket on me to muffle the controller noise (standard button and trigger clicks). But then the front of our system is blocked by a wooden case, and therefore the remote sensor is blocked as well. But, exactly like the PS2 version again, the Xbox Logitech controller works perfectly fine with no lag or delay. I use either of these controllers, from ten feet away, under a blanket, blocked by a solid object, and sometimes not even pointing them anywhere near the remote sensors, and they've worked as if they were connected with a cord, every single time.

So for me, Logitech is the brand to swear by. As long as they'll keep making them I have no need to ever use another controller for my PS2 or Xbox. Someone mentioned a "slushy" directional pad, which seems a bit true, the pad doesn't feel quite as firm as the standard pads but it's not loose and unusable either, just noticeable. Other than that minor issue, this controller is flawless. Pick one up- If I can use it from a distance, under blankets, with an obstacle in between, then I'm sure anyone will be able to use it just fine.

4 out of 5 stars Great wireless controller!   February 16, 2006

After playing a friends XBox 360 I decided I had to get wireless controllers for my (original) XBox. I tried another brand of wireless controllers (don't remember the brand, but they came in a two pack) and they were inaccurate and too small. Its small size caused the battery back to irritate my knuckles and the buttons were in the wrong place. These Logitech controllers are the perfect size and are extremely responsive. The only thing I would have changed on them is the slushy D-Pad. It almost feels broken. Most games don't really use the D-Pad so it's not that big of an issue.
